LIVE WEBINAR: July 14, 2026 | 1:00-2:00pm ET

Registration includes the live webinar link (sent via Zoom), the webinar recording, and PDF of the slides.

Description

Molecular testing in lung cancer is extremely important in determining therapeutic regimens for patients diagnosed with this disease.  Having the information available early in treatment planning allows for the most precise care, better efficacy and reduced side effects.  More institutions are streamlining biomarker testing in lung cancer in order to provide patients and oncologists with rapid information for therapeutic planning.  Streamlined testing can also improve tissue utilization, potentially reducing the need to re-biopsy.  This webinar will discuss why institutions should consider streamlining molecular biomarker testing, focusing both on advantages and potential problematic issues.  Lung cancer will be used as the example, with the potential for application in a wide variety of tumor types.

Learning Objectives
  • Understand the different terminology utilized when discussing streamlining precision oncology biomarker testing.
  • Explain why institutions may implement streamlined ordering of biomarker testing and what some of the considerations are in doing so.
  • Discuss some of the regulatory, logistical and ethical issues to consider in implementation of these protocols.
  • Identify at least seven biomarkers in lung carcinoma that make it a requested cancer for initialization of these pathways.
