LIVE: Cell-free DNA (cfDNA) from Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) for Diagnosis and Molecular Testing of Brain Tumors

LIVE WEBINAR: October 9, 2025 | 1:00pm-2:00pm ET

Registration includes the live webinar link (sent via zoom), the webinar recording, PDF of the slides, pre- and post- knowledge check questions, and continuing education credit (CME and CMLE).

This interactive live webinar is part 21 of the Emerging and Evolving Biomarkers Series

Description:

Genomic profiling of tumor tissue is a critical component in the care of patients with cancer, particularly regarding the diagnosis and management of brain tumors. While CSF cytology represents a long-established, routine test used for diagnosis, staging, and therapeutic decisions, cfDNA from CSF is rapidly emerging as a rich source for tumor characterization via liquid biopsies. In this webinar, we will examine the biologic and pre-analytic factors that may influence cfDNA detection as well as the many laboratory considerations and approaches, and finally the clinical implementation and utilization of tumor biomarkers from CSF cfDNA.

Learning Objectives:
  • Explain the origin of cfDNA and biologic factors that may influence detection
  • Identify techniques for collection and extraction to optimize success
  • Compare several laboratory assays that have demonstrated the use of cfDNA from CSF as a source material
  • Explain how molecular testing of cfDNA from CSF is being integrated into clinical care
