Continuing Education Credit is no longer available for this course.
Description:
This presentation will outline molecular subtypes of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), including those recognized by the latest classifications and those that are emerging and close to the clinic. The subtypes will be described, along with their clinical relevance and the challenges to implement appropriate assays in the laboratory. Finally, the evolution of DLBCL from diagnosis to relapse will be outlined with implications for molecular testing and our understanding of disease biology and patient management.
Learning Objectives:
- Recognize the
molecular subtypes of DLBCL within the WHO HAEM5 and ICC classifications and
describe the key differences between these schema.
- Understand the
origin and biology of the recently described dark zone lymphomas.
- Illustrate the challenges of implementing appropriate assays for assigning genetic subtypes of DLBCL.
