Dr. Susan Beck has over 30 years of experience as an educator in clinical laboratory science. She is the Director of the Division of Clinical Laboratory Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She serves as the Program Director for the accredited MLS (Medical Laboratory Science) and DMS (Diagnostic Molecular Science) programs. She has served in leadership roles in certification for both the National Credentialing Agency for Medical Laboratory Personnel (NCA) and the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification. Her research has focused on educational issues such as defining the knowledge and skills needed for entry into the laboratory profession at various levels of practice and workforce issues including retention of laboratory professionals.
