These will include diagnostic approaches minimizing use of immunohistochemistry, best practices for maximizing tissue preservation for ancillary studies, and technical considerations for optimal sample use. Additional practices which can be deployed for further tissue maximization will also be discussed.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify key obstacles to ensuring adequate tissue availability for molecular analysis in new diagnosis samples of NSCLC.
  • Elaborate on technical approaches to the specimen handling and laboratory processes which can maximize tissue preservation for molecular testing while maintaining diagnostic integrity.
